Forgotten Currencies is a meticulously crafted book that explores the rich history of old coins and currencies that are no longer in use today. Over the course of three months, I made numerous visits to the British Museum, gathering visuals and data to build this project. Every image and typeform in the book was created from the materials I collected during my research. Through my illustrations, combined with photo editing for efficiency, I depict the evolution of money—from ancient coins to the banknotes and cards we use today. The book also delves into unconventional items that have served as currency over the centuries. Each featured currency is marked with its date and how many years it has been forgotten, offering a poignant narrative of transformation and obsolescence.
